Nagaland
Congress in poll dilemma(TEL, 19-1-k8)

New Delhi, Jan. 18: Even without a Narendra Modi
in Nagaland, the Congress faces a dilemma that reminds it of lessons learnt in

of not less than 10 dissidents, who “returned home” only months before the
polls, hangs in the balance. Only one of the 11 districts in the state, Mon,
remained without witnessing any political rebellion. As the Congress deals with
17 rebel legislators from the ruling coalition seeking party tickets, it runs
the risk of displeasing budding aspirants within its fold.

“There is no question of a dilemma like Gujarat as the
Nagaland People’s Front had engineered defections after last elections. All
those in question are Congressmen who have returned,” said a senior AICC member.
